Potty Training Take 2

Potty training, it's, well, going. Friday morning Hayden insisted on wearing his undies to daycare; in fact was adamant about not wearing a pull up! When I got to daycare to pick him up that night I was pleasantly surprised to find him wearing the same outfit I dropped him off in! No accidents at all on Friday! Until we got home that is but thankfully it was on the kitchen floor and not the carpet. And he cleaned it up himself!  Saturday was another good day of no accidents. He even told me he needed to potty while picking up a few things at Wal-Mart and even went once we got back there!!

Sunday was another story..

Sunday we headed to Augusta to celebrate Jason's parents 40th wedding anniversary! His sister Marcie organized a mini-photo shoot of the three siblings and their families to surprise them with (which turned out awesome!) and then we all went to lunch at Playa Azul. For the third day in a row Hayden wore underwear which we braved in the car even though he has a tendency to fall asleep during the drive! I was feeling pretty good about it too because he went without being asked once at GaGa and PaPa's and again at the restaurant! Things went down hill though after lunch. While feeding Tucker in Marcie and Jeremy's family room, I turned around to see what Hayden wanted me to look and and noticed a puddle in the middle of Delaney's play area. He followed that by pooping in his pull-up after we got home and sitting in it for close to an hour without saying anything thus giving himself a lovely diaper rash.

After convincing him that diaper rash cream was a good idea, Hayden tells me (for the first time ever) that "we poop in the potty so we don't hurt our butt"! I took this as my opportunity to bribe the poor kid. I told him that if he didn't have any accidents and pooped in the potty on Monday we'd get ice cream that night and if he went in the potty all week we would get a Percy toy at the end of the week (another addition to his Thomas toys or his "birthdays" as he calls them).

It's now Tuesday and so far Hayden's only had one accident and that was today at preschool/daycare. Not sure what time it was (could have been after nap for all I know!) but I'm pretty proud of him for so few accidents! Hopefully this is a sign he's really ready after all!
